The Academy was granted by the Collective Security Council in 2012 the status of a basic educational institution of higher professional education for the training of specialists for the CSTO member states. The Academy is currently training specialists for the five CSTO member countries.
Two workshops of ICDO were held at the Academy
In cooperation with ICDO a mobile training support kit was developed
The primary area of activity is training of specialists in the field of civil protection of population and territories against emergencies. The Academy has graduated more than 5000 highly qualified specialists since its foundation in 1992.
Today the Academy implements educational programs of Bachelor and Master degrees, postgraduate studies and advanced training.
Officers and civilian specialists are trained for territorial bodies, rescue military units, departments of the EMERCOM of Russia and other ministries and departments, including emergency management agencies of foreign states.
The Academy invites foreign experts to complete advanced training courses and professional retraining from 16 to 324 hours.
The Academy research work is focused on the urgent problems in the field of civil defence, prevention and elimination of emergencies.
The main goal of research work is to develop the Academy as a scientific and educational center aimed at the EMERCOM of Russia priority areas of science, engineering and technology.
The Civil Defence Academy of EMERCOM of Russia established a clear mechanism for interaction with various international organizations, foundations and centers. Close international cooperation allowed the Academy to occupy a key place in the global educational space and a leading position among educational institutions in the fire and rescue field
